作者简介：周晓虹（1957－），男，黑龙江尚志人，南京大学社会学系主任、教授、博士生导师，史学博士。应该说明的是，作者1999.4-2000.5和2000.7-2000.8先后在美国哈佛大学费正清东亚研究中心和香港中文大学大学服务中心从事访问研究，因此，本文的成文应该感谢这两家当代中国研究机构提供的支持与便利。
